What type of education is required for becoming a flight
attendant or travel agent?

The minimum requirement is a high school education or
equivalent. Attendance at a travel school offering an
intensive curriculum will increase your opportunities for
successful hiring.

Do I need to be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for
employment?
A:
The requirements to work for a United States based airline
state that you either be a U.S. citizen or possess the legal
right to be employed in the U.S. You need to possess the
legal right to work in the United States as a travel agent.
Q:
Do I have to have perfect vision to become a flight
attendant?
A:
No, as long your vision is correctable to 20/40 or better,
you should be fine with your vision.
Q:
What are the health qualifications to become a flight
attendant?
A:
Your overall health should be in good condition. Once you
are hired by an airline their training programs are quite
vigorous therefore you need to be in good shape. Airlines
also notice your teeth. If you need corrective work it would
be best to get this completed prior to placement. Airlines
do hire personnel with braces.

As a flight attendant do I need to be flexible?
A:
Flexibility and an ability to relocate to other cities are
very important if you are going to be considered a serious
flight attendant contender.

Do I need to speak a foreign language to get a job with the
airlines or with a travel agency?
A:
For either position it is strongly recommended that you
speak English with good diction. Speaking another language
may result in increasing your pay as a flight attendant. As
a travel agent speaking another language will enhance your
ability to serve multiple cultures.

As a flight attendant what are my height and weight
requirements?
A:
Most airlines require that you be between 5' and 6'3''
dependent on the airline. Your weight must be in good
proportion to your height
